Problem Note 33705: SAS® Web Report Studio might stop responding or enter a loop upon logging on with certain network topologies
SAS® Web Report Studio might stop responding if you log on through a WebSEAL junction address or a reverse-proxy server. This problem occurs because of a URL-redirection servlet filter that is set as a default.
The request.log and referer.log files in WebSEAL or the access log for the reverse-proxy server might indicate that repeated requests for SAS Web Report Studio occur with no redirection to SAS® Logon Manager.
For situations in which a front-end URL processor such as WebSEAL is used, there are two possible solutions, both involve adding a new property via the Configuration Manager in SAS® Management Console. The recommended solution, which should be sufficient in most cases, is to add a default logon-target property for SAS® Web Report Studio.
To add the new property, complete the following steps:
- Open the SAS Management Console folder hierarchy.
- Select Application Management ► Configuration Manager.
- Right-click Web Report Studio 4.2.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Add.
- In the Property Name: text block, type Logon.Target.
- In the Property Value: text block, type WRSLogon.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
The second method which can be employed in the event that the problem persists, is to disable the URL-redirection servlet filter, again using a new property in the Configuration Manager in SAS Management Console.
To add this property, complete the following steps:
- Open the SAS Management Console folder hierarchy.
- Select Application Management ► Configuration Manager.
- Right-click SAS Application Infrastructure.
- Click Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Add.
- In the Property Name: text block, type App.RedirectionFilterDisabled.
- In the Property Value: text block, type true.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.

For software releases that are not yet generally available, the Fixed
Release is the software release in which the problem is planned to be
fixed.
SAS Web Report Studio can be unresponsive or it might enter an infinite redirection loop when you use a Tivoli WebSEAL server and certain reverse-proxy configurations.
